About

Open source developer writing about Java, integration, Linux, and technology.

About

I am Otavio R. Piske, an open source developer with a long-standing interest in Java, integration, Linux, performance, and the practical side of building software.

Most of this site is a mix of technical notes, migration stories, conference material, experiments, and the occasional random useful link I wanted to keep around.

Projects

I spend a good part of my open source time working on integration tooling and the surrounding ecosystem.

I am involved with Apache Camel, especially work around Camel Quarkus and Camel Kafka Connector. Those projects sit at the intersection of Java, cloud-native runtimes, messaging, and the practical realities of connecting systems that were never designed to work together.

I am also involved with Wanaku, an open source MCP router focused on making AI-to-system integrations more practical, and Forage, a project aimed at reducing boilerplate when wiring Apache Camel applications.

Around the web

You can find me on GitHub, LinkedIn, Twitter, BlueSky, and Mastodon.

If you want a little more background, a rarely updated résumé is also available in HTML and PDF format.
